Government Affairs Committee

Mission: To foster opportunities for the Chamber membership to exchange insights and gain influence with those members of the government who have the authority to enact change affecting the business community.

The Government Affairs Committee offers informational programs to the Chamber membership and the community at large on matters of interest which can impact the business climate of the Greater Salem area. The Committee schedules events at which a variety of town, community, state and even national officials and business leaders are invited to share their thoughts with Chamber members. Regional programs may be co-hosted with the Chamber of Commerce of a neighboring community as well. As we approach the upcoming election season, the Government Affairs Committee is already busy scheduling several events to foster communication between candidates and Chamber members. With an unusually full slate of local candidates running for NH Representative, Senate and Executive Council positions, we are working on a variety of programs to help members stay informed on issues and make educated choices. The Government Affairs Committee hosts several televised speaking engagements and forums annually, responding to political and topical events affecting the Greater Salem business community. We welcome members to join our committee. For more information contact the Chamber Office at 893-3177.
